Piano Music Tutor

Emily Cheung has 15 years of experience teaching piano, 10 years of which at DC. At the age of 9, she performed in front of the whole school for the first time, an opportunity that was rare at the time. By the time she graduated from her secondary school, Diocesan Girls’ School, she was already an experienced piano accompanist.

Emily was one of the guest performers in the Opening Ceremony of the Student Leadership Conference 2000 organized by the City University of Hong Kong. She attained her Master’s Degree in Applied Translation at the University of Leeds in the UK in 2004. She was the pianist at the annual musicals at the YMCA of Hong Kong Christian College (YHKCC), and piano accompanist for DC’s Recital Evenings and Annual Concerts.

Emily’s love of music extends beyond the piano. She participated in the “King of the Instruments” – Organ Education Series in 2007, where she learned the organ from Ms Chiu Siu Ling and Ms Gloria Wo.

Emily received a Performance Certificate from Trinity College of Music, London in 1995. She obtained the Certificate of Teaching from the Associated Board Royal School of Music (ABRSM) in 2012, Diploma of Teaching (ABRSM) in 2013 and Master’s Degree in Musicology at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing in 2014.
