The Student Council consists of 2 students, 1 boy and 1 girl, as a representative for each year level. Below you will find a short bio of each student from the Council:
Howard Cheng:
Hi I’m Howard, I’m 10 years old and I am in Year 7.2. I come from New Zealand and moved to Hong Kong in May 2011. My hobbies and favourite subjects include Design Technology, Science, Math, Drama, Music and Photo Journalism. I am involved in the Choir and in the Community and Service group. I stand for a school that helps students make their dreams come true! If you have any suggestions, please email or talk to me when you see me at school.
Harry Dwyer:
Hi, my name is Harry. I am one of the two student council representative's for Year 10.
The reason I ran for student council was because I wanted to make the student council more open and transparent. If anyone has any ideas about improving DC talk to me.
Nina Rossiter:
Hi, I’m Nina and I am one of the Year 10 Student Council Representatives. I’m an American Japanese born in Hong Kong and raised Singapore and Hong Kong. My hobbies include hanging out with friends, shopping, doodling & volunteering in various charity events.
Chloe Sercombe:
Hi, I am Chloe. I am half Welsh and half English and I live in DB. I am 11 years old and have 2 sisters and a brother. I am delighted to be member of the student council and if you have any suggestions on how to make DC better please approach me at any time.
Kira Gregory:
Hi my name is Kira. And I am glad that I can be the student council this year. I am happy to take anyone’s suggestions or ideas for making the school a better place for you! So if you have any ideas just come to me and we can talk about it whenever you want. I am half American and half German, but born in Hong Kong. I love P.E, History and science and music the best! But I love all the other subjects too. I love animals and hope to look at a career working with animals when I am older.
Cameron Smith:
Hello my name is Cameron. I am from Scotland and England and am 13 years old. I am a year 9 student council representative. I wanted to become a student council representitive to further enhance my leadership responsibilities and make a positive change to the school environment for the students. I enjoy playing sports and am on numerous sports teams. I also play the guitar and am in the Discovery College Stage band. I hold a Principal Scholarship at DC and can’t wait to start working with my fellow council members, school staff and the student body as a whole to make a change to our school.
Chantel Woo:
My name is Chantel, I am 13 and I am thrilled to be one of this year's Year 9 Student Council Representatives. I am definitely committed to hearing your opinions and thoughts about how we can improve school life for everyone so we can make a positive change together. Outside of school, I enjoy making music, playing badminton, traveling, writing and spending time with my family.
David Lunn:
I'm David in Year 11 at Discovery College. Born in Hong Kong, I have lived in Discovery Bay all my life. My interests include reading the news, playing music, cross country running and socializing with friends. I also enjoy reading novels. I am 15 this year. The school has always held significant importance for me, not only because that's where I spend most of my time in a typical day, but also since it is a great learning space. This is why I would like to help make a difference in creating an even better school environment for everyone at Discovery College.
Carrie Chow:
Hi, I am Carrie, and I am one of the Year 11 student council representatives. I come from Hong Kong and I'm 15 years old. In school I am involved in choir, orchestra, stage band and the Year 11 community and service. In my spare time I like to play music and take photos. Skye Fung:
Hi, my name is Skye and I am from Hong Kong, I am one of the Student Council representatives for Year 5 this year. I was born in 2002 and I am 9 years old. My hobbies include soccer, badminton and reading books. You can approach me anytime if you have any ideas!
Robert Neale:
Hi my name is Robert, I am in Year 8 and I am from England. I like to play football, I like to be active and play sports. I am happy to be one of your Year 8 student council representatives.
Jerry Lin:
My name is Jerry. I am a Year 6 representative for the DC Student Council. My experience as a leader includes being a class captain twice. I stepped in as a member because I did not only want to further develop my leadership skills, but also to contribute more for our school. I enjoy playing the piano and doodling. Finally, if you have great ideas about the school in mind and want to share them with someone, I might be the right person to speak to.
Blaise Kingan:
Hi I am Blaise. I am a year 5 student council representative. I am proud to be born in Hong Kong and my mum is from Canada and my dad is from England. My hobbies are football, swimming and field hockey. I ran for student council because I wanted to make a difference in the school; the class, the year group and working to communicate with the secondary students.
Cheryl Chin:
My name is Cheryl and I am a part of the student council as one or your Year 6 representatives. I have lots of hobbies, such as tennis, ping-pong and other sports.
