MYP Yr 1 | Music| Course Overview

In this course students will develop their listening, composition and performance skills while studying the music of STOMP. The students will be guided through learning activities that will guide them to being able to understand and answer the unit question below. The students will focus on composing and performing STOMP inspired compositions/performances in groups, whereby, the music presented will be in four parts. The students will learn about different composition and performance techniques on recycled percussive items used as instruments. The unit will culminate in the students presenting a lunch-time concert.

Summative assessment:
Students will compose a 90-120 second STOMP like composition in Garage Band and present it to the class. In addition, the students will from groups and compose and perform a STOMP-style trash percussion piece.
